Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Training

The Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) have been in existence since 2009. However, since 2014 a change in the law has led to more people who live in residential and nursing homes or who are in hospital being affected by them.  Care home and hospital managers are responsible for ensuring their staff have sufficient knowledge of DoLS to ensure that people under their care aren’t being illegally deprived of their liberty which could be the case if their care plan amounts to continuous supervision and control and they’re not free to leave.

I can provide Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards training at all levels from an introductory course through to more advanced aspects of DoLS. My training is only provided by me and never sub-contracted to anyone else. I am an experienced Independent Social Worker and trainer who also practices as a Best Interests Assessor.  I can provide training at any required time and convenient location. Our courses work best with up to 20 people. Because I tailor our courses to your specific needs, I don’t have individual places available on our DoLS training.

For a discussion about a single session or on-going training package, please telephone or email me.
