AI Policy
Our Approach to Artificial Intelligence (AI)
At Simply Social Work, we are committed to providing ethical, human‑centred, and expert independent social work services. This includes being transparent about how we use technology — including artificial intelligence (AI).
AI can be a helpful tool in modern organisations, but it will never replace the professional judgement, empathy, and expertise of our qualified Social Workers.
Our Commitment
We use AI responsibly, safely, and transparently. Our core principles are:
- Human‑led practice
- Protection of personal data
- Professional integrity
- Transparency with clients and commissioners
- Compliance with UK GDPR and Social Work England standards
AI supports our work — it does not shape our assessments, opinions, or decisions.
How We Use AI
We use AI only for general, non‑client‑specific tasks that help us run the business efficiently. This may include:
- Creating or improving website content
- Drafting marketing materials
- Designing graphics or visual content
- Summarising legislation or guidance for internal learning
- Creating templates or administrative documents
These uses help us save time on routine tasks so we can focus more on delivering high‑quality social work services.
How We Do Not Use AI
We never use AI for anything involving clients, cases, or professional judgement.
AI is not used to:
- Write or analyse reports
- Conduct mental capacity or best interests assessments
- Review evidence or case files
- Draft SEND Tribunal or Court of Protection documentation
- Form opinions or recommendations
- Process personal or sensitive information
- Predict outcomes or influence decision‑making
All assessments, reports, and professional opinions are written entirely by qualified Social Workers.
Protecting Your Information
Your privacy and confidentiality are paramount.
We do not input into AI tools:
- Names
- Personal details
- Medical or educational information
- Court documents
- Case notes
- Any identifiable information
All AI use complies with:
- UK GDPR
- Data Protection Act 2018
- Social Work England professional standards
- Court of Protection and SEND Tribunal confidentiality requirements
Your information is handled only by qualified professionals — never by AI.
Transparency With Clients
We believe in openness.
If AI has been used in any part of a document (for example, to improve clarity or structure), we will tell you.
However, AI is never used to generate or influence the professional content of our reports. Clients and commissioners may request that no AI tools are used at all in relation to their work, and we will fully respect this.
Our Human‑Centred Promise
AI can support efficiency, but it will never replace:
- Human empathy
- Professional judgement
- Critical analysis
- Experience
- Ethical decision‑making
At Simply Social Work, every assessment, every report, and every recommendation is made by a real, qualified, experienced social worker.
That is our promise.
